Anna Hanger

Anna Hanger

At the age of 12, Anna Hanger was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. While she was in the hospital, she was saddened to see other sick children whose families struggled financially, and realized how lucky she was. In the midst of pain and illness, she became determined to make a difference in their lives, so she created “Anna’s Angel Fund” and asked for donations to it in lieu of get-well gifts for herself.

In three years, the Fund has received over $152,000. Anna’s generosity has sent children to NYU for medical treatments, and helped many families pay their bills so that they can focus on helping their children get well. A grassroots organization, most people learn of Anna’s work through word of mouth. To read more about Anna’s effort, visit www.annasangels.org.
